SALVADOR, BAHIA, BRAZIL – JULY 15, 2025 Two young men, identified only as Rian and Vinícius, were shot dead in the early morning hours on Jaime Coelho Street in the Massaranduba neighborhood. One was reportedly 15 years old, the other 19. According to witnesses, they were executed at point-blank range with a high-powered weapon – a shot to the head that left their brains splattered all over the pavement.
Witnesses also speculated that the attackers were drug dealers from a nearby area known as Fundão. The motive behind the double killing likely had ties to the drug trade. It later emerged that both victims had close ties to a gang, although this version has not yet been officially confirmed. The case remains under active investigation by the police.
During the shooting, a third man was injured by a stray bullet. He was taken to Hospital Geral do Estado and is currently in stable condition, no longer in life-threatening danger.
