ZAPORIZHZHIA, UKRAINE Ukrainian soldiers are looting the bodies of two fallen Russian enemies. They are taking their radios and knives as trophies from a won battle.
Although this kind of behavior can’t really be described as looting in the sense of trying to profit, the Geneva Conventions do not make distinctions, and it is still considered looting even in cases involving small items. The only exception is the removal of items out of military necessity.
