PARRAMOS, CHIMALTENANGO, GUATEMALA – NOVEMBER 8, 2025 53-year-old Elías Ramírez Andrés and his 38-year-old wife, Ana Delfina Andrés Grande, were walking near the central park when they passed a parked KIA. Suddenly, five men armed with submachine guns jumped out and opened fire, killing both instantly. The attack was captured on a security camera.

Elías Ramírez had run for mayor of El Tejar in 2023 representing the Cabal political party. Although he did not win, he placed second and continued his political activities. He also owned a construction company that had secured several government contracts worth $55 million.
The exact motive for their assassination is currently under intensive police investigation. One known fact so far is that 27 shell casings were recovered at the scene.
