CARUARU, BRAZIL – AUGUST 16, 2017 A brutal murder took place near the Monte Carmelo Church in the Salgado district. Maria Érika Monteiro da Silva, 29, was literally beaten to death by her partner, Tiago Jonas Santos Silva, 21. He was arrested by the military police after the crime.

The attacker spent the whole night drinking alcohol with Maria and her aunt. They had an argument in the morning and he physically assaulted her. The subject of the argument was drug money. He forced her to get it.
When Maria fell unconscious to the ground, he placed her body in bed. A few hours later, he discovered that Maria was no longer breathing.
