CULIACÁN, SINALOA, MEXICO – MARCH 2, 2025 Three corpses of municipal police officers in uniform were found near a bridge on the La 12 highway (Culiacán – El Dorado). One of them was a policewoman. All showed signs of brutal violence.
Identification confirmed that they were the three policemen who had been missing since 28 February – Ezequiel, Joel Alberto and Petra Emilia. They had gone to a citizen’s report that day but disappeared en route. Their empty car was found later that day.

The police are still investigating the case. But it is more than likely that their execution was carried out by one of the drug cartels operating in the area.
