SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 20, 2026 Maria Rizomar Ferreira Cruz, 56, was stabbed to death in the early hours of the morning on Travessa Luís Rafanelli in the Grajaú neighborhood. The woman, who posted videos of her daily life on TikTok, was reportedly attacked by her 43-year-old neighbor, Francisca Luiz da Silva, according to witnesses.
According to witness statements, the two women had been drinking together shortly before the incident. At around 5:30 a.m., an argument broke out between them, during which Francisca was reportedly holding a knife and threatening to kill Maria Rizomar. The victim allegedly tried to defend herself but suffered multiple stab wounds. The suspect then left the scene and, according to witnesses, returned to continue the attack.
A security camera captured the attack. Police later did not find the suspect at her home, but recovered a blood-covered knife at the scene. Among other possibilities, investigators are looking into whether the attack was connected to an alleged extramarital relationship between Maria Rizomar and Francisca’s husband. This possible motive has not yet been confirmed.
