IMBAÚ, PARANÁ, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 17, 2020 Woman identified as 46-year-old (some sources say 41-year-old) Eliane de Aparecida Siqueira was attacked by a swarm of bees. She suffered hundreds of stings all over her body, including her face.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, she was completely covered in bees and was no longer moving. They fought for about an hour for her life. During that time, she suffered several cardiac arrests. In the end, they unfortunately lost their fight and she died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Manoel de Jesus Borges de Ávila, a worker to the area where the incident happened, said that there is a honey bee farm in the area. He thinks that she hit one of the bee boxes. However, he described it as very stupid because there are warning signs all around the farm.
Eliane’s body has been taken to the Institute of Medico-Legal (IML) in Ponta Grossa for post-mortem examination. She left behind four children.
