BELÉM, PARÁ, BRAZIL – DECEMBER, 2024 Kellen Thaynara Nascimento Abreu, 26, went on a nighttime speedboat ride with her four friends on Dec. 26. They listened to music, drank alcohol and had fun. Thaynara was last seen by her friends when she said she was hot and jumped into the water.

Her friends tried to find her but all efforts were in vain. They were eventually forced to go to the police and report what had happened. In response, the police launched a massive search operation.
Kellen was found a day later, on the morning of December 27. Unfortunately, she no longer showed any signs of life. A forensic autopsy confirmed the cause of death as drowning.
