SÃO JOÃO DE PIRABAS, PARÁ, BRAZIL – MAY 31, 2025 Local residents found the corpse of a woman in the middle of the mangrove forest in an area known as Morro do Macaco Molhado. She had clearly died a violent death. Her hands and feet were tied, and she had a deep wound on her neck, probably caused by a machete.
The police transported her body to the forensic institute, where it underwent a judicial autopsy and was identified as Noemia Marinheiro Amorim. The investigation also revealed that Noemia had previously survived an attempted murder. While living in the city of Salinópolis, she survived a firearm attack. For that reason, she moved to São João de Pirabas in hopes of finding greater safety.
