THALAVADI, TAMIL NADU, INDIA – AUGUST 16, 2026 24-year-old Anju was working at a store when 32-year-old Nagendran came to see her. According to police, he had repeatedly tried to persuade her to enter into a relationship with him. Anju rejected his advances, and the two frequently argued over the matter.
Nagendran allegedly attacked her with a knife this time and stabbed her several times. Anju began calling for help, prompting people nearby to rush over and pull the attacker away from her. Nagendran allegedly pushed them away and fled the scene. The injured woman was subsequently taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The entire attack was captured by a security camera inside the store, and the footage later began circulating on social media. According to police, Nagendran allegedly attempted suicide after the attack and was subsequently taken to a hospital. Police are continuing to investigate the case. No updates on Anju’s condition are currently available.
