Woman shot dead during protests in Iran

IRAN – JANUARY, 2026 In December 2025, mass demonstrations began in the capital city of Tehran and quickly spread to all major cities across Iran. The main reason was public dissatisfaction with the country’s economic situation – rising inflation, high prices not only for food, and the collapse of the Iranian currency. In many cities, protesters directly criticized the government, called for regime change, and demanded the end of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The regime responded to the protests very brutally and systematically used both harsh and lethal force to suppress them, including firing on unarmed civilians and carrying out mass arrests. While Iranian authorities stated that the demonstrations resulted in over 3,000 deaths, some independent sources speak of as many as 6,000. Among them were children.

The gross human rights violations taking place in the country drew reactions from almost the entire world. The European Union called for an immediate end to violence against protesters. US President Donald Trump even threatened Iran with military force. The regime responded by cutting the entire country off from the internet, both to prevent protesters from communicating with each other and to stop photos and videos documenting human rights abuses from reaching the outside world.

One of the victims of the Iranian regime is also the woman in this video. She was taking part in the protests, reportedly unarmed, when security forces literally shot her brains out.
