BONITO, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – JUNE 30, 2016 Marilene Maria do Nascimento, 39, was relaxing on the veranda of her house in the rural area of Bonito. Suddenly, two men on a red motorcycle appeared and started shooting at her. Marilene was shot five times in the face, once in the arm and once in the chest. She was dead on the scene. Neighbors testified that they did not know how to explain the motivation for this act. The woman was said to be non-confrontational, good-natured and certainly not involved in anything illegal.
