HAGONOY, BULACAN, PHILIPPINES – JULY 1, 2017 The corpse of a young Filipina was found by the shore of the lake. She had her hands tied with packing tape to bamboo and strangulation marks on her neck. There were torture marks on the body. Investigators said they are certain the woman died a very painful death.

Her body was taken to a funeral home but detectives were unable to identify her. Eventually, they decided to publish her photos and ask for the public’s help. That worked. She has been identified as 20-year-old Xandra Anicete.
