SANTARÉM, PARÁ, BRAZIL – MARCH 22, 2023 A 22-year-old mother of two was stabbed to death by members of a drug cartel. Police identified her as Luciana de Jesus Matias. She was allegedly involved with drug use. Unfortunately, this is not the first tragic case in her family. In 2019, the cartel murdered her sister, Andressa de Jesus, who was found half-naked with wounds on her head.
A 25-year-old prison escapee, Daniel Cordeiro Santos, was arrested in connection with her death on the morning of March 30 and confessed to her murder.
