RUSSIA Sergei Kosolapov arranged to meet his girlfriend Elena Maslakova in a wooded area to discuss the details of their crumbling relationship. While Sergei pleaded for the relationship to continue, Elena was adamant about breaking up. This resulted in a heated argument that attracted the attention of passers-by who called the police to the scene.
The police wanted to de-escalate the conflict, so they decided it would be wise to take the girl away from the scene. What happened next, however, was unexpected. Sergei was carrying a gun and a bomb. He ran, shot himself in the head and fell on the bomb, which subsequently exploded.
