Young Vietnamese woman killed in motorcycle crash

HANOI, VIETNAM – JULY 18, 2026 Serious traffic accident occurred in the early morning hours on Vĩnh Tuy Bridge in Vietnam’s capital city, in which one woman died and another was injured. The accident happened while traveling across the bridge toward the city center, when both women were riding together on a motorcycle.

According to initial information from the scene, the motorcycle suddenly crashed while in motion, throwing both riders onto the road. One of the women suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene. The second injured woman was taken for further medical treatment after receiving first aid.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Traffic police arrived at the scene immediately, secured the accident area, assisted with traffic control, and began investigating the circumstances of the crash. Due to the response of emergency services, traffic restrictions were temporarily imposed around the bridge.

The identities of both women and the exact cause of the accident had not been officially announced at the time of the first reports. Investigators continue collecting evidence and determining why control of the motorcycle was lost.

This accident serves as a reminder that riding motorcycles in large cities such as Hanoi can carry significant risks, especially on busy roads and bridges. Following safe speed limits, using protective equipment, and maintaining maximum attention while riding can significantly reduce the risk of fatal traffic accidents.
