SANTO CRISTO, BULACAN, PHILIPPINES – MAY 9, 2015 Alexis Plaza, 22, who suffered from epilepsy, had a seizure while collecting water from a well when was bent over it. She unfortunately fell down. The well was more than 100 feet (30 meters) deep but only 2 feet (60 centimeters) wide. Alexis was probably dead before she fell down from the head and body injuries caused by falling in such a narrow space.
When the rescue team arrived on the scene, it took them quite a while to pull her body back up. They even had to use breathing apparatus to rappel down.
The well is now closed. The locals decided to cover the well with soil so that a similar disaster would never happen again.
