The autopsy revealed that the woman had died from strangulation using shoelaces. She had several lacerations on her neck and around her jaw caused by the tightening of the ligature. Doctors also noted other typical signs of death by asphyxiation. Investigators were unable to determine whether she had been murdered at the location where she was found or whether someone had transported her body there afterward.
The woman had previously had several minor run-ins with the law, including domestic disputes with her boyfriend and a physical altercation with another woman at a bar. In both cases, she was identified as the aggressor. Her murder was never solved. One of the investigative theories was a crime of passion, but both the actual motive and the killer’s identity remained unknown.
