PROBOLINGGO, EAST JAVA, INDONESIA – AUGUST 31, 2025 Attack took place on Raya Bantaran Road in the village of Kedung Supit during a carnival. A 23-year-old man, Muhammad Andri from the settlement of Krajan, was brutally assaulted by an unknown attacker wielding a machete.
The victim suffered multiple slashing wounds, the most severe to his arm, but survived. He was rushed to Probolinggo Hospital in critical condition, where emergency physician Dr. Mohamad Saleh managed to stabilize him.
Some witnesses reported seeing the victim riding a motorcycle with a friend. He lost control and fell because he was being chased by the attacker. With the streets crowded, there was no way for him to escape quickly.
Local police are now conducting an intensive investigation. The motive and the attacker’s identity remain unknown. If caught, the perpetrator could face charges of aggravated assault or attempted murder.
