GANDU, BAHIA, BRAZIL – JUNE 12, 2012 Luzimare Santos, just 18 years old, was found dead with signs of sexual violence in a forest near the town of Gandu. She was a high school student. She had gone missing the day before she was found when she left home to go to study. The cause of her death was stab wounds to the neck. Her corpse was found in a very sexual position, with her buttocks and breasts exposed.
The prime suspect was her ex-boyfriend. But he presented such a strong alibi to the police that he was released.
