BRAZIL Man was caught in the act of attempting a robbery. An angry mob quickly gathered around him, accusing him of other robberies in the past as well and venting their aggression on him. They brutally beat him before the police arrived.
Although physical violence against criminals may sometimes seem like quick and effective justice, it is actually a gross violation of human rights. Even the worst criminal always has the right to a fair trial and punishment under the law. Never participate in a lynching, and always call the police to the scene instead.
