INHAPI, ALAGOAS, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 20, 2024 Residents of Inhapi found a woman’s dead body near the town. Most of it was already charred, but her head remained whole. At the time of discovery, the corpse was still burning.
Thanks to meticulous police work, the victim was identified as 42-year-old Damiana Souza dos Santos. It was also determined that the cause of her death was a gunshot wound.

A day later, her husband was arrested in connection with the murder. He confessed to the murder. He said they were driving to Mata Grande when he pulled off the road, shot her, and then drove to a gas station to buy gas so he could dispose of the body. The motive was said to be financial problems, but further details are not known.
