TABASCO, MEXICO Black plastic bag and a blanket dumped on the side of a little-traveled road hid a gruesome find. Inside, a half-naked female body was found. The victim’s hands and feet were bound with electrical cable. Her jeans had been pulled down and used to strangle her. Many abrasions were found on her neck, and throat marks on her jeans, indicating that she died very slowly and probably struggled with her attacker. Some investigators have speculated that she was hanged from the jeans.
Identifying the victim wasn’t too difficult for police. She was well known as a waitress at the bar, which often operated into the wee hours of the morning. It is believed she was attacked as she was returning from work in the dark, as she usually walked that way. The motive for the murder is not yet known. A sexually motivated attack cannot be ruled out, nor personal vendetta.
