The 45-year-old was taken to hospital with extreme facial injuries. He had been shot with a shotgun and was practically missing part of his face. He was immediately rushed to the operating room with the highest priority.
First, surgeons performed an emergency tracheostomy to ensure he could breathe. A team of maxillofacial surgeons then stepped in and reconstructed his face.
Although the surgery was successful and the patient survived, he will never look the same again.
