NATAL, RIO GRANDE DO NORTE, BRAZIL – MAY, 2026 Dismembered body of 24-year-old Gabriel Fernando was found in a catchment basin in the Lagoa Azul area in the northern part of Natal, Brazil. A fisherman alerted authorities and called the police to the scene.
Police initially found only the torso. With the assistance of firefighters, the head and severed limbs were subsequently discovered around the basin. According to a police commissioner, the man had several tattoos on his body, which significantly contributed to his identification. Investigators also noted signs of injuries caused by a firearm.
According to his family, Gabriel Fernando had been missing since the previous day. He worked as a driver for a transportation app. Police have not yet released a motive and the case was taken over by a specialized civil police unit.
Later, a video began circulating online that was reportedly filmed by members of the gang responsible for the murder themselves. The dismembered body of Gabriel Fernando can be seen in the background, while men in front of the camera display the tools allegedly used in the attack. The authenticity of the video and the circumstances in which it was recorded had not been officially confirmed by police at the time it was published.
