BAVET, SVAY RIENG PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – APRIL 20, 2023 Body of 24-year-old Morn Sreymey, an employee of Dynasty Entertainment Casino, was found at night in her rented room. The woman was lying naked on the bed, with her head severed from her body. According to investigators, the perpetrator first slit her throat and then decapitated her.

Police suspected 41-year-old Lor Konghour of the murder. He also worked at the casino as a dealer and was romantically involved with the victim. After the attack, he fled to Preah Vihear Province, where he attempted suicide by ingesting rat poison. Police subsequently arrested him and took him to a hospital, but his condition remained critical. According to investigators, he confessed to the murder and cited jealousy as his motive. He reportedly suspected that Morn Sreymey was cheating on him with another man, and was also upset that her parents disapproved of their relationship.

Lor Konghour died in the hospital several days later from poisoning. As a result, the case never went to trial, and the suspect never faced justice for murdering his partner.
