INDIA – FEBRUARY 18, 2025 Indian powelifter and gold medallist in the junior category, 17-year-old Yashtika Acharya, tragically died during her strength training. She attempted to lift a rod weighing 595 pounds (270 kg). But the rod fell on her neck and broke her cervical spine. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
