Kashmir has long been a disputed territory between India and Pakistan, with regular clashes taking place between Indian security forces and armed groups. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is a Pakistani Islamist terrorist organization that seeks to annex Kashmir to Pakistan. The group is designated as a terrorist organization by numerous countries and the United Nations and is responsible for a number of attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Indian authorities have long claimed that the organization operates with support from Pakistan, a claim that Islamabad denies.
