RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – AUGUST 22, 2026 In the western part of Rio de Janeiro, a violent incident occurred that was reportedly connected to a territorial struggle between local criminal groups. According to information circulating in connection with the case, a man allegedly linked to the “Selva” militia, which is reportedly affiliated with the Capitão América (CPA) group, was kidnapped and subsequently killed by members of the Comando Vermelho (CV) drug faction. Footage of the incident subsequently began circulating on social media.
