ALTAMIRA, PARÁ, BRAZIL – AUGUST, 2025 In a house in the village of Mocotó in the Asurini area, the body of a man was found. He was lying in a pool of his own blood with visible slash wounds on his head, inflicted by a machete or sword. His left hand had been completely severed, indicating he had actively tried to defend himself and highlighting the extreme violence of the attack.
The victim’s identity has been established but not released. Police are actively investigating the case and searching for the perpetrator. Local residents expressed shock, as such crimes are rare in their small village, which has no known activity from violent gangs or criminal groups.
