BATTAMBANG PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – MAY 19, 2024 Seng Kimheang was murdered by her 45-year-old aunt named Su in a particularly brutal manner. They lived in the same house together and Su had long been dissatisfied with her niece’s behaviour. She often brought her boyfriend home and disturbed her sleep.

On the fateful night of the murder, Su asked her neighbours if she could spend the night with them. They agreed, but noticed that Su was acting very strangely. She would walk around the house at night singing a lullaby to a doll.

The next night Su asked her neighbours for the same favour, but they refused. Seng’s dead body was found a day later. Maybe it was the neighbors who got suspicious and called the police.
Seng was completely butchered. She received several axe blows to the face. Her aunt was charged with murder and put on trial. The court’s verdict is not known, but it is likely that she ended up in a psychiatric hospital instead of prison.
