RIVONIA, GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA – APRIL 6, 2025 In a suburb of Johannesburg, a fatal culmination of tension in a love triangle cost one man his life. 29-year-old Emmanuel Mahamba was killed in an attack by his rival in love. Both men were in a relationship with the same woman, known as Thombizodwa.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Rivonia Road and 12th Avenue. Emmanuel was repeatedly hit and run over by a Ford Ranger pickup truck, which was driven by his rival. Thombizodwa, with whom both the victim and the attacker had a relationship, was present during the entire incident.
Thombizodwa commented on the attack on her social media, where she took part of the responsibility. She stated that she had not ended her relationship with Emmanuel clearly. The attacker allegedly became very jealous after seeing a video of her with Emmanuel posted on his social media.
Emmanuel died at the scene, before emergency services arrived. The perpetrator fled after the attack and has not yet been arrested, although his vehicle was found by police and the case has been taken over by the Sandton department.
