CARAVELAS, BRAZIL – MAY 30, 2016 Jenifer Santos Matos, 16, had not returned home for several days and was listed as missing by police. On 30 May 2016, a random passer-by made the gruesome discovery of her body dumped in a remote area. She was completely naked and her body bore the marks of a machete attack. Although her body was already in a state of decomposition, forensic specialists were able to confirm that she had been raped.
