CARDENAS, TABASCO, MEXICO – JANUARY, 2021 Viridiana Berron Molina, a 39-year-old lawyer, was murdered in a parking lot as she was getting into her car. Three men with guns drawn surrounded her and demanded that she hand over her car keys. It is unclear how she reacted to this, as witness accounts vary. What is certain is that they opened fire.
All three attackers were caught by the police in less than an hour. They claimed their motive was to steal a car. But information began to surface that it may have been a contract killing. But all three denied this information. If it was a contract killing, all three did everything they could to protect their employers.
Viridiana was a mother and a woman with her heart in the right place. As a lawyer, she often helped poor people for free. She had handled many cases in her career and met with all sorts of people, including those with drug cartel ties.
