INAJÁ, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – MAY 1, 2026 Gregório da Silva Neto, 34, was fatally attacked with a knife in front of the city hospital. The man had already suffered stab wounds and arrived at the scene in the back seat of a motorcycle to seek medical attention.
Before entering the hospital, however, João Paulo Pereira de Menezes, 33, appeared. According to local media, he was suspected of the earlier attack. Gregório tried to flee, but fell, and the attacker caught up with him. He then stabbed him more than ten times, and the man died at the scene.
The suspect fled after the attack. The motive for the crime was not immediately known. Police later arrested João Paulo Pereira de Menezes based on a pretrial detention order.
