PHILIPPINES – APRIL 9, 2012 The photos show the course of a surgical procedure in which a doctor removed two fibroadenomas from the breast of a 37-year-old patient. This is an excess breast mass, not cancer.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and, in addition to removing the fibroadenomas, the goal is to leave as little scarring as possible. In this case, the surgeon used scars from a previous surgery.
