MARSH HARBOUR, ABACO, BAHAMAS – AUGUST 31, 2026 51-year-old Warren “Spy” Ellis (some sources report that he was 50) was shot in broad daylight in front of Parts City Auto Parts in Marsh Harbour on Abaco Island. According to police, he was attacked by several armed men, while witnesses reported hearing at least a dozen gunshots. Ellis died at the scene. Investigators suspect the attack was retaliatory and are searching for the perpetrators.

A 14-year-old student from Patrick J Bethel High School was also injured in the shooting. He had been buying a drink at the store and had no connection to Ellis. The boy suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was airlifted to New Providence, where he was released the following day. According to his pastor, Beabrun Bresslin, he was physically fine, but the incident had a significant psychological impact on him.
Warren “Spy” Ellis had previously been publicly linked to drug-related crime, although these allegations were never proven in court. In 2018, he and his wife, April Dawkins-Ellis, were arrested after police found approximately $13,000 in their luggage at the airport in Nassau. The charges were later dropped.
