UDON THANI, THAILAND – JANUARY 5, 2020 50-year-old Thaisan Sonchai murdered his 50-year-old wife Watcharaporn and their two daughters (23-year-old Kachaporn and 19-year-old Sasithorn) by beating them to death with a grass stick – a chair leg. He then wrote a farewell letter and hanged himself from a tree in front of the house.
In the farewell letter, the man said that he is in a difficult life situation because he is in a lot of debt. He further stated that he is unable to take care of his two daughters and his wife. He apologized to everyone for the trouble caused. He also begged to be forgiven.
Thaisan himself placed a tray of flowers and scented candles next to the bodies of his murdered wife and daughters. His father-in-law said Thaisan had two loans totaling 2 million Thai baht. He allegedly married them in order to give his daughters a university education. The older daughter graduated from Khon Kaen University, specializing in food technology. The younger daughter was a first-year student at the same university.
