BARANGAY GUIMBANGCOAN, CEBU, PHILIPPINES – NOVEMBER 21, 2016 Dead body of a young woman was found in a grassy area near the town of Sibonga on the Philippine island of Cebu. She visibly had a gunshot wound on the left side of her chest, where the heart is.
At the same time her corpse was found, a farmer from Consolacion began missing his daughter who matched the victim’s description. He was invited to the funeral home in CarCar City to make an identification. It turned out that it was indeed his 21-year-old daughter, Genevieve Jabello. He described her as an aspiring and ambitious girl who was studying in animal science at Cebu Technological University. He said she was trouble-free and had no idea who could have murdered her.
Even the police officers had no idea. Investigations did not lead them to any clear lead and Genevieve’s murder remained unsolved to this day.
