CÀ MAU PROVINCE, VIETNAM – JANUARY 17, 2025 37-year-old man and his wife were on their way home from court where they had just completed divorce proceedings. But the man apparently did not agree to the divorce and resorted to a drastic step.
On a road connecting Cà Mau province and Phú Tân district, he attacked his newly ex-wife with a large knife that looked more like a meat cleaver. Some sources say he even used a chainsaw. When she was already lying lifeless on the ground he committed suicide by slitting his throat.
Many bystanders were present at the scene and tried to stop him. However, they didn’t have many options as they were afraid to approach such an unpredictable madman. They just shouted and one woman beat him with a long bamboo stick.
