DECEMBER, 2004 When one of the strongest recorded earthquakes in history shook the calm Indian Ocean, it caused one of the greatest tragedies. A massive tsunami wave was triggered, which struck the entire coastline of Southeast Asia. Among the hardest-hit countries were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and Malaysia. The photos show one of the washed-up tsunami victims from this area. An unknown woman, carried by the raging water possibly for tens of kilometers.
