NOVA VIÇOSA, BRAZIL – MARCH 24, 2018 Dozens of calls flooded the emergency line when two hit men shot and killed a woman at a bus station in front of many witnesses. One of them said two men approached the woman, whereupon she tried to run away. They opened fire and hit her several times. Police identified her at the scene as 44-year-old Maria da Penha Pereira de Oliveira Souza. According to the police, Maria had been released from prison a few days earlier, where she was serving a sentence for drug trafficking.
