ROCINHA, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – DECEMBER 29, 2022 Two young women were found in a pool of blood in a house in Rio de Janeiro’s largest favela, Rocinha. The women were identified as 20-year-old Francisca Analice Ferreira Mendes and 19-year-old Stephany Paiva. Police have confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. His name has not been released. He should have been convicted by the blood stained clothes he was wearing that day. However, during interrogation, he denied ever being in the house. Chemicals revealed that the blood on his clothing was human. He was unable to explain its presence.
Speculations are circulating on the Internet that the women had a fight with each other, one murdered the other and then committed suicide. But the families of both women vehemently deny this claim. Both were good friends from childhood.
