SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – AUGUST 12, 2024 25 year old Génesis Daniela Lugo committed suicide together with her 5 year old daughter. She held her in her arms as she threw herself from the 4th floor of a building in the Villa Mella district.

Génesis was dead on impact. Her 5-year-old daughter was taken to Hugo Mendoza Hospital in critical condition. She had serious brain injuries and unfortunately later died as well.
The reason for this incomprehensible act was supposed to be that she had learned that her daughter had been sexually abused by her sister. Omayra Antonia Lugo Cruz, sister of Genésis Lugo, took advantage of a visit to her sister’s house to sexually assault the 5-year-old girl. She forced her to watch porn, touched her private parts and forced her to have oral sex.

Omayra was sentenced to only three months in prison.
