ITALY – AUGUST, 2016 Mentally ill old woman let a police patrol into her house, which was summoned by her neighbours. They complained about the smell emanating from her residence.
She let the officers in without the slightest problem. There was filth, garbage and smell everywhere. You could tell it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.
But what they found on the first floor shocked them even more. There was the corpse of a man in a mummified state. The woman referred to the corpse as her husband, who is resting.
Subsequent police investigations revealed that the woman was unaware that he was dead due to her mental disorder. She lived next to his corpse for almost two months. It was also discovered that he died of natural causes.
