LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA – JULY 26, 2026 During an illegal car event known as a street takeover, a serious accident occurred in which two pedestrians were injured. The incident happened in the North Hills area of the San Fernando Valley at the intersection of Plummer Street and Haskell Avenue.
According to available information, people gathered at the location for illegal driving activities and dangerous vehicle maneuvers. A black sedan lost control during the event and struck two people standing near the roadway.
The impact was very strong. One of the pedestrians was knocked down and lost consciousness after the collision. The second victim suffered devastating leg injuries that nearly resulted in amputation. Both injured people were subsequently taken to a hospital.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the crash and fled the scene. Police are investigating the case as a hit-and-run and are attempting to identify the driver using witness statements, records, and videos captured by people at the scene.
