BRAZIL A 23-year-old female motorcyclist drove at high speed into a kite wire that was stretched across the road at her neck height. It cut her throat, she fell and bled to death in a small amount of time.
Poor children play with homemade kites in Brazilian favelas. They often hold tournaments where they glue glass shards or razor blades to wires. So their kite can cut the other kite’s line and win. Unfortunately, they often play with kites next to highways and roads. Motorcyclists often die because of them. This is probably the case.
