TABATINGA, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – AUGUST 19, 2026 Young woman identified only as Geovana was shot and killed. The attack took place on Oswaldo Cruz Street, near Jociêdes Andrade School, and the entire incident was captured by security cameras.

According to the available footage and information from local media, Geovana was lured to the location by a pair consisting of a man and a woman. When she approached, the man waiting on a motorcycle pulled out a gun and fired several shots at her. His face was partially covered by a hood, and according to available reports, she was hit primarily in the head.
After the shooting, both suspects fled on a motorcycle. People who were in the area attempted to help the woman, but her injuries were fatal, and she died at the scene.
The case is being investigated by the Civil Police in Tabatinga, which is looking into the circumstances of the attack and its motive. It has not yet been publicly confirmed why Geovana was targeted or what relationship she had with the pair who, according to the investigative theory, lured her to the location. Authorities are also continuing to work on fully identifying the victim and the suspects.
