Young woman was shot dead because she refused sex

CEVICOS, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – DECEMBER 4, 2021  The dead body of a young girl was found, which the police were able to identify as 21-year-old Joselin Mato de Padilla. The investigation led the police to a 40-year-old man, Elio Rodríguez, who was a friend of the owner of the company where the girl worked. He confessed to the crime. He stated that he wanted sex with the girl, but she refused him. Elio Rodríguez was previously sentenced to 15 days in prison for domestic violence. Witnesses said Elio had been harassing him since his first day on the job.
