BRAZIL – NOVEMBER 11, 2013 Woman was found dead in the middle of a dirt road. She had a gunshot wound to the head, fired at close range – indicating an execution-style killing. Next to her body was a handbag containing her identification, personal belongings, and cash. This allowed the police to confirm her identity, though her name has not been released publicly. It is known that she was 36 years old. The presence of money at the scene suggests robbery was not the motive.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was not entirely innocent, and her murder is likely connected to drug trafficking. In 2006, she was convicted of drug possession. That same year, she also appeared in court as a witness in a drug-related homicide case.
Some witnesses reported seeing the woman the night before her body was discovered, riding on a motorcycle with a man who was unfamiliar to the area.
